In 2022, Leon, who hails from Bremen, Germany, donated 7.5 million stem cells to a stranger - Jay Reineke, the brother-in-law of Dead Low Brewing's co-owner Kyle Havens. Jay was diagnosed with stage 3 blood cancer in 2019, and thanks to Leon's selfless donation, he is now cancer-free as of April 2025. Leon joined the donor registry at his wife Lana's urging and soon learned he was a 99.6% match for Jay. Jay and his family are forever grateful and hope to thank Leon in person for this incredible gift of life.
